Ben Kereopa-Yorke

Ben Kereopa-Yorke works at the intersection of AI, information, and cognitive security. As co-Lead of the OWASP Machine Learning Security Top Ten and Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Technology and Society, he bridges the gap between theoretical security research and practical implementation.

His approach integrates systems thinking with cyber risk quantification, applying concepts from chaos theory and game theory to develop adaptive AI security frameworks. Ben has contributed published thought leadership on AI security to Oxford, Cambridge, and the Brookings Institution.

Currently completing a Master's in Cyber Security Operations at UNSW Canberra and postgraduate studies in Neuroscience at UNE, Ben holds existing postgraduate qualifications in Terrorism and Security Studies, Cloud Computing, and a Master's in Cyber Security. His certifications include the AWS Machine Learning Specialty, and he was among the first Australians to earn the IAPP's Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional qualification.

Ben is passionate about fostering interdisciplinary approaches to emerging security challenges, drawing from diverse fields including philosophy, sociology, and cognitive science. He is committed to developing frameworks that balance technological advancement with human values, ensuring AI systems enhance rather than diminish human agency.
