Sean Sproul is a Principle Consultant at MWR CyberSec with a primary focus on incident response and crisis management. With prior experience in the red team space, Sean brings a focused view on incident response and utilises his first hand knowledge surrounding threat actor techniques to educate individuals and organisations, resulting in increased response capability against various real-world techniques.
Although there are many tools that exist in the detection and response space, Sean's primary focus is to ensure that knowledgeable individuals are able to understand the limitations and extent of these tools and utilise them to pro-actively identify issues, rather than relying on them for exclusively reactive detections.
He has been an instrumental individual in numerous cyber incidents within Africa and the Middle East, rotating between management of these incidents and performing the technical legwork such as digital forensics. Although business related incident response is his current field of work, Sean hopes to one day use his ever-developing skillset to work collaboratively with law enforcement to investigate human trafficking rings.
