Shanil Chetty is a forward-thinking ICT and Cybersecurity leader currently serving as the Manager ICT & Cybersecurity at the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF). With a dynamic background spanning aviation security, enterprise IT transformation, and regulatory compliance, Shanil is at the forefront of digital modernization in the Pacific.
He has spearheaded national-scale technology initiatives, including Microsoft 365 adoption, cloud migration, cybersecurity awareness campaigns, and infrastructure upgrades aligning with global aviation standards. His leadership has been pivotal in driving CAAF's cybersecurity posture through strategic risk assessments, Zero Trust adoption, and policy development guided by NIST and ISO frameworks.
Shanil’s prior experience includes roles in Fiji’s national airline and higher education sector, bringing a multi-sectoral lens to cybersecurity resilience. He is a passionate advocate for bridging the digital divide across Pacific nations, and actively contributes to knowledge-sharing through tech communities and professional development programs.
Currently pursuing Masters in Information Technology, Shanil holds a Bachelor's degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology. He also leads youth employment and digital innovation initiatives through his platform, Ignite Pacific.
