Vannessa Van Beek is a cybersecurity leader who thrives at the intersection of people, technology, and risk. With a background that spans law, business, and psychology, she brings a refreshingly human lens to complex security challenges. Currently the Global CISO at Fortescue, Vannessa has led national security teams, built out capabilities across Australia, and globally.
Vannessa is a CSO30 award winner, a certified CISM and CIPM, and a graduate of the Cyber Leadership Institute. She’s also a LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator (yes, seriously), which she uses to spark creativity and connection in technical teams.
Above all, she believes cyber is a problem we solve through people and the best results come when you combine strategic focus with empathy, curiosity, and a bias for action. Great security tools and AI are at the heart of her passion.
