Warren Overton is an experienced executive in the recycling and product stewardship space of end-of-life electronics. As CEO of the Australia New Zealand Recycling Platform he oversaw the safe and compliant recycling of more than 20,000t or e-waste each year. Appropriate management of data-containing devices was an ongoing and increasing challenge for the program and an important risk management issue for corporate customers.
Warren is now a Senior Advisor for the Sustainable Electronics Recycling Initiative (SERI) - an international not for profit that promotes the sustainable, safe and secure management of end-of-life IT assets. Ensuring data security is a core aspect of the R2v3 certification standard that is managed by SERI and has been adopted as best practice at over 1250 sites worldwide.
